Built by prominent local builder Cade Allen, who helped shape the architectural character of early St. Petersburg, the home has been returned to its original purpose as a private residence, pairing nearly 90 years of history with the comfort, function and finish of a completely renewed home. The result is an extraordinary residence where historic character and craftsmanship meet the ease and refinement of modern living. Situated on Mirror Lake, this home presents something virtually unheard of in the downtown core: the privacy and permanence of a true single-family home with an attached two-car garage and dedicated outdoor entertaining space, all within minutes of the restaurants, waterfront, culture and energy in the heart of the city. The restoration honors the home's original architecture rather than diminishing it. Historic stonework, hardwood floors, solid wood doors and hardware, wood-framed windows, the traditional clay tile roof, graceful arches, staircases and railings have been carefully preserved and complemented by an extensive renovation that introduces the comfort and functionality expected of a newly finished home.Inside, a highly functional layout includes a first-floor owner's suite, dedicated office, flexible additional rooms and two laundry areas. A beautifully appointed kitchen with Thermador appliances and an adjacent butler's pantry brings another refined, contemporary amenity. The primary bath features marble tile, a pedestal soaking tub, glass-enclosed shower with an oversized rainhead, dual vanities and quartz countertops. Throughout, preserved details and newly introduced finishes come together with a depth and authenticity that only time can create. Outside, the property offers the rare luxury of a backyard in the center of downtown. Mirror Lake creates a calming ambiance that feels remarkably removed from the city surrounding it, with views across the lake to the skyline.
